Late V. M. Mehta Secondary School is a Marathi medium school in Solapur. We have classes 5 to 10 with a total strength of 1100 students studying in Marathi and semi English.
During the Diwali vacations I had attended a workshop conducted by Shah Sir who had shared the details of the Bebras Challenge. After that I got permission from our principal, Mrs. Bagewadi to register the students for the Challenge.
One of the biggest challenge of conducting the Bebras Challenge was that the computer lab that had computers did not have a projector and the classroom that had the projector did not have adequate computers.The solution was that I used the projector to conduct the offline challenge and the students used pen and paper to record the answers without any difficulty. I typed in the student responses in Excel and submitted the file. Conducting the Bebras Challenge was an great experience and most important was that the students got to learn something different. We received excellent results too!
