नाशिक मधील नावाजलेली नाशिक शिक्षण प्रसारक मंडळ,नाशिक ह्या शैक्षणिक संस्थेतील नवीन मराठी प्राथमिक शाळेत गेल्या 10 वर्षापासून मी संगणक हा विषय शिकवत आहे.
मागील वर्षापासून cs पाठशाळा ह्या अभ्यासक्रमाची माहिती घेत होते.मा.श्री.गिरीष पगारे सर व सोनिया मॅडम यांच्या 
प्रोत्साहनाने ह्या अभ्यासक्रमाची सुरुवात संस्थेतील 7 प्राथमिक शाळांमध्ये यंदा केली.
संस्थेच्या संगणक अकादमीच्या सप्टेंबर महिन्याच्या गुगल मिटिंग मध्ये सोनिया मॅडम ह्यांचे Guest lecture झाले त्यात त्यांनी cs पाठशाळा अभ्यासक्रमातील काही topic उदा “guess my birthdate”, find shortest path for Dhuma” हे कसे शिकवायचे हे सांगितले.व नंतर सर्व instructors साठी परत एक session घेतले.त्यानंतर मी प्रत्येक topic वर दर आठवड्यास प्राथमिक शिक्षकांना ट्रेनिंग देण्यास सुरुवात केली.सगळ्या शाळांमध्ये मुख्याध्यापकांसह पालकांची मिटिंग घेऊन प्रथम ह्या अभ्यासक्रमाची माहिती दिली..
सध्या pattern, motif, tesselletion हे topic दिवाळी च्या सुट्टीत सगळ्या शाळांमध्ये विद्यार्थ्यांना शिकविले जात आहेत.तेही google meet वर !!
Pattern शिकविताना सुरुवातीला online शिकविण्यास थोडे कठीण गेले.त्यांना समजतेय किवा नाही काहीच कळत नव्हते ,आपल्या सभोवताली कोणते pattern आहेत तसेच आपल्या घरातीलच वस्तू वापरून pattern कसे करायचे असे शिकविले,पण जेव्हा विद्यार्थ्यांनी त्यांचे pattern तयार केले व व्हिडिओ पाठविले तेव्हा हि संकल्पना त्यांना छान समजली असे लक्षात आले ..त्यांनीही छान enjoy केले..sharing some photographs….
Patterns
तसेच floral, geometric, human, number pattern, word pattern, rhyming word, sound इ pattern मुलांना सोपी 
उदाहरणे देऊन शिकविली.जसे floral pattern फक्त फुलांचे, पोलका dot checks patttern इ.जसे आपण दैनंदिन वापर करतो .विद्यार्थ्यांनी वहीत कापडाचे तुकडे चिकटवून फोटो पाठविले.व त्यात pattern ची नावे लिहिली.वेगवेगळ्या रांगोळ्यांचे,आकाशकंदील चे pattern, human pattern मध्ये त्यांनी त्यांचे रोजचे routine step by step वहीत लिहून पाठविले. आईचे /बाबांचे pattern पण लिहून पाठविले.
शब्द कोडी सोडविण्यास त्यांना दिली.फळांची नावे,वार,महिन्यांची नावे, फुलांची नावे शोधून त्यास circle करणे इ.. त्यानंतर motif व tesselation मधील फरक कसा ओळखावा? ह्यातही निसर्गातील उदाहरणे sunflower, अननस ,मधमाशांचे पोळे, विटा एकावर एक रचून tesselation कसे होते त्यानंतर footpath वरील paver block,chess board, motif एकच design repeat करून motif संकल्पना शिकवली..विद्यार्थ्यांनी छान आनंद घेत त्यांनी प्रश्न सोडविले . सुडोकू सोडविले..तसेच bebras india स्पर्धेत ज्या प्रकरचे प्रश्न विचारले जातात त्यांची विचार करून उत्तरे दिली . लूप हि संकल्पनाही त्यांना समजली. व हि संकल्पना कुठे आणि का उपयोग होतो हे हि सांगितले.
एकंदरीत विद्यार्थी खूप छान शिकतात व प्रतिसाद देतात.रोज टिचर google meet ची लिंक कधी पाठवतील त्याची आतुरतेने वाट बघतात.
एक ते दिड तास google meet वर ppt द्वारे व काही प्रॅक्टीकल करून शिक्षक शिकवितात. कोविड -19च्या शाळा बंद असल्याने हा अभ्यास ते छान करतात. ह्या परिस्थितीत आपण विद्यार्थ्यांपर्यंत whatsapp / google meet ह्या माध्यमांद्वारे पोहोचून त्यांना cs पाठशाळा syllabus मधील काही topic शिकवले व समाजाचे आपण काही देणे लागतो ह्यातच मला आनंद वाटतो. मला हा अभ्यासक्रम शिकविण्यास प्रोत्साहन दिल्याबद्दल सोनिया मॅडम व विपुल शहा सरांचे मी आभार मानते.
I have been teaching computers in the Marathi medium Primary school of a renowned educational institute in Nashik, Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal. Since last year I was associated with CSpathshala and this year I started teaching the CSpathshala curriculum in 7 schools run by the institute, with encouragement from our coordinator Shri Rakesh Salunkhe Sir, Girish Pagare Sir and Sonia madam.
In September Sonia madam during an online session. explained how to teach some of the topics like ‘Guess my birthdate’, ‘Find the shortest path to Dhuma’ etc. from the CSpathshala curriculum to us. Following this session, I started training all the primary teachers on how to teach the topics. I arranged parents’ meetings in all the schools with the Principals and explained the curriculum. New Education Policy 2020 has included computational thinking and we found that the curriculum of CSpathshala very appropriate to build students skills. Currently the topics like pattern, motifs, tessellation are being taught in all the schools for standard 2, 3 and 4 as part of the Computer Hobby Classes on Google meet and right through the Diwali vacations!
In the beginning it was a little difficult to teach patterns online. I couldn’t get any feedback, whether the students understood the concept or not. What patterns you come across in your surroundings or how to make patterns using household items was something we focused on teaching. But when the students created their own patterns and sent in the videos, we knew, that they have understood perfectly. They also enjoyed it thoroughly.
With examples from day today life we taught the students the number patterns, floral patterns, geometric patterns, word patterns, human patterns, rhyming words. Polka dot or checks patterns, which the students can come across everyday. The students pasted cloth scraps in the book, identified the pattern and sent photos. The also identified rangoli and akash kandil patterns.
In human patterns, we asked them to note down their routine step by step. They also wrote patterns for their parents. They were given word games and asked to identify the names of flowers, days of the week, the months of the year by circling the alphabets etc. They were taught how to identify the distinction between motif and tessellation. Tessellation was explained with the help of examples from the nature like pine apple, a sunflower, a beehive and examples from the surroundings like paving blocks from the footpath. The concept of motif was explained through the repeating designs. The students enjoyed the sessions immensely. They solved SUDOKU as well as the type of problems asked in the Bebras India challenge. The concept of Loop and why, how and where is it used was explained to them.
The learning response from the students is extremely good. Every day they eagerly await the Google meet link from the teacher.
The teachers teach them daily for about one and half hour on Google meet with the help of ppt and practical training. Since the schools are closed due to COVID -19, the students keenly learn through the internet. I am really glad that under the pandemic situation we could reach the students through WhatsApp and Google meet and teach them some of the topics from the CSpathshala curriculum. I am extremely thankful to Sonia madam and Vipul Shah sir for their encouragement.
