Computing plays a bigger role in the lives of young people today than ever before. Yet, there is a widespread lack of knowledge of what constitutes the core of computing: is it just the use of word processors and spreadsheets or are there more fundamental principles that underlie this science. Can we show young people how a computational model can be used to solve a variety of problems, from basic problems in mathematics to answering questions in biology?

CSpathshala (www.cspathshala.org) is an Association for Computing Machinery (ACM India: india.acm.org), not for profit, initiative to bring a modern computing curriculum to Indian schools. ACM India Nagpur chapter is organizing a workshop on 12th August 2017 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, at APJ Abdul Kalam Hall, Persistent Systems LTD, IT Park, Parsodi Nagpur -22. Hon’ble Padmashri Dr. Vikas Mahatme, Rajya Sabha MP will be distinguished guest and Dr. Umesh Deshpande, HOD Computer Science Dept., VNIT will be the keynote speaker.

We would like to invite all principals, computer and math teachers from primary and secondary schools in Nagpur to the workshop.

The CSpathshala initiative provides teaching aids in the form of slides, lesson plans and student worksheets to the teachers at no cost. 100 schools have joined the CSpathshala pilot for grades 1-8 for 2017-2018.

Lunch & Refreshments will be served.
