CTiS 2019: 1st Computational Thinking in Schools Conference – 20th April, 2019

CSpathshala  proudly announces the first conference on Computational Thinking in Schools (CTiS2019) to be held at Pune on April 20th, 2019. CSpathshala  is an Association for Computing Machinery India (ACM India) initiative to bring a modern computing curriculum to Indian schools. Computational Thinking advances the notion that the mathematics and science behind computer science, go way beyond the simple ability to use computers, and can be taught and discussed in schools without even the use of computers.

Do encourage your teachers to send in abstracts of their experiences in teaching Computational Thinking. CTiS2019 provides a platform for teachers implementing computational thinking to share their experiences,  student learnings/stories, outcomes and interesting new experiments.

The conference will feature the keynote speakers and presentations of selected abstracts.

Themes

  • Computational Thinking (CT)
  • CT and Curriculum
  • CT and related Activities
  • CT and Teacher Development
  • CT in learning and teaching other subjects
  • CT and physical computing
  • CT in Education Policy

Submissions

We invite submissions from school teachers teaching computational thinking. The submissions can be in the form of a 1-4 page abstract clearly summarizing their experience or experiments and outcomes. The abstract can cover any aspect of computational thinking including interesting puzzles or games or experiments or pedagogical methods or any education policy related issues.

We would like the submission to be well structured starting with the following details.
Title:
Names of authors with affiliation (for each author):
       School/Institution address (for each author)
Contact email address: (for each author)

Then the abstract can describe the findings in 1-3 pages with clearly structured paragraphs and sections.

Please send the abstract to ctis2019@cspathshala.org (in DOC or PDF format) by February 10th, 2019. The abstract can be in English, Gujarati, Hindi or Marathi.

Review

The submissions will be reviewed by the program committee consisting of the following members for their novelty and clarity. Authors of selected abstracts will be notified by 15th March, 2019.

Our team of experts will work with the selected authors to work on the presentation to be made in the conference.
